Animal Rights
Animal rights remain a complicated and often emotional conversation in Vermont. For generations, Vermonters have held deep cultural traditions around hunting, land stewardship, and outdoor life. It hasn’t always been easy to bridge those traditions with the goals of modern animal advocacy. Finding common ground continues to be a challenge, but it’s also an important opportunity for thoughtful dialogue.
While there is still work ahead to meet the needs and concerns of both sides, I strongly support Vermont’s animal‑cruelty enforcement laws and the commitment to applying them fairly, beyond the influence of any particular special‑interest group. I also believe in the importance of protecting wildlife crossings and habitat corridors, ensuring that the animals who share our forests, fields, and pastures can move freely and safely across the landscape.
